Golfers love the easy access to their sport. With over 50 local courses and sunny weather, golfing in Jacksonville is a year-round activity. Players of all levels find the right course to challenge their game, be it a private resort or one of the popular local public courses. There are also four golf courses within 10 minutes of Crystal Springs, including one brand new golf course community under development. Jacksonville is also home to the annual PGA Players Championship in March.

Many historic sites are also located within driving distance of Crystal Springs, making great destinations for weekend, day-trips. Some of these include Fort Caroline National Memorial, Kingsley Plantation, Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park and Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve. All of these sites are within 40 miles of Crystal Springs by car.

Local annual festivals include the Jacksonville Hot Air Balloon Festival at Herlong Airport and the Ham Jam at Jacksonville Equestrian Center. The Ham Jam is a four-day festival featuring rides, live music, lots of food and a petting zoo and art activities for children.
